Avengers: Endgame had a lot of implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, but there's one movie it's going to have an incredibly major impact on: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. There's a lot Endgame sets up for that upcoming film.

The end of Endgame gives a pretty good indication Thor will join the Guardians of the Galaxy in their next film, which is really going to change the team dynamics the previous movies explored. Thor is one of the most powerful heroes in the universe, but he's also still undergoing a lot of personal development that might end up becoming a big part of the movie. Thor is still learning about himself and his place in the world, which is a major theme amongst the misfit Guardians, so he might just be the perfect new recruit.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has had a pretty troubled production history, with writer/director James Gunn getting fired and then later rehired, though there are some reports Disney never really searched for someone to replace him. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not currently have a release date. The film is reportedly scheduled to begin production in February 2021.
