VIDEO: The Avengers May Trap Thanos Inside A Time Loop During Endgame

A lot of fan theories speculate that time travel will play a major role in Avengers: Endgame and in the titular team's quest to defeat Thanos. Most support for these theories hinge on the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp, which saw Scott Lang trapped in the Quantum Realm, which Janet Van Dyne warned contained Time Vortexes. However, another theory posits that the Avengers could trap Thanos in a time loop, much like Doctor Strange did Dormammu in his self-titled movie.

There are a lot of ways Doctor Strange might have pulled off trapping Thanos inside of a time loop. Some theorize that the glow seen on the Time Stone when Strange gives it to the Mad Titan indicates that it's currently being used in some way. This might hint that Strange trapped Thanos in a time loop from that moment on, which could have major implications for the film. Plus, this time loop might have some connection to the Quantum Realm, which most figure will play a key role in the film.

Manipulating the space-time continuum is controversial among many of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most powerful magic users. Such a method of defeating Thanos might have far-reaching implications for the MCU as a whole, so it's possible that such a solution would spur the events of Phase Four.
