Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment has found a home for the feature film Pentacle at Lionsgate, Deadline reports. The film comes from an original pitch by two-time Black List screenwriter Ian Fried, and is described as an "Amblin-style thriller in the world of magic."

Lionsgate's John Sacchi (The Last Stand) and Jessica Switch are attached to the project, and Vertigo's Lee will produce Pentacle with Adam Stone, Vertigo's president of production. John Powers Middleton and Irene Yeung of Vertigo will step into the executive producer roles.

Fried previously sold a similarly supernatural pitch called Spectral to Legendary Pictures and another sci-fi screenplay called Prism to Paramount Pictures. Spectral, which will be directed by Nic Mathieu, is expected in theaters in August 2016 and will star James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3) and Emily Mortimer (The Newsroom).
