Veronica Mars Movie Cast Plans Trio of Comic-Con Events

The Veronica Mars cast wants Comic-Con International attendees to know just how much they love their fans. According to a note from associate producer Ivan Askwith to Kickstarter backers, creator Rob Thomas and most of the film's cast will appear Friday, July 19 in San Diego before returning to Los Angeles for the final day of shooting.

Although the Neptune gang will only be in town for one day, they're making the most of their time by attending three events: an official panel, an autograph session and a fan party.

Here's the full rundown as seen on The Wrap:

1.) The official SDCC panel: It will take place Friday morning. Clearly, you'll need tickets to get into the convention that day. Creator Rob Thomas and stars Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Jason Dohring, Tina Majorino, Krysten Ritter, Chris Lowell, Percy Daggs III and Francis Capra will join a conversation mediated by Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen.

"They'll be talking about the production and our amazing fans, showing a little bit of exclusive footage, and taking questions from the audience," Askwith explained.

2.) An official signing: Most of the panelists will stop by the Warner Bros. booth to sign autographs. More details to come, but fans will be able to get tickets and wristbands in advance. Bell is sitting this one out.

"She just gave a birth a few months ago. You heard about that, right? We need to make her get some rest," the associate producer explained.

3.) An evening fan event: Most of the cast and crew will be there and you don't have to be registered with SDCC – it's open to the public. While some Kickstarter backers have already received tickets, lines will open at 6 a.m. PT for the remaining tickets. Follow the movie on Twitter and/or Facebook for details.

"In addition to having all of the panelists from the morning session, we’ll show you even more first-look footage, take your questions, and maybe have a few surprises. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook during SDCC for real-time updates on what’s happening," Askwith said.

"Veronica Mars" set multiple records for Kickstarter when the campaign launched in March, becoming the fastest project to reach $1 million, doing so in a little more than four hours. It reached its $2 million goal the same day and has had more than $5.7 million pledged in total.

The Veronica Mars Kickstarter broke all kinds of records and gave fans the power to help bring the show back as a feature film. From there, just about everyone from the UPN/CW series signed on to reprise their roles in the film, which finds Veronica returning to her hometown for a high school reunion that, as you might expect, also includes a murder mystery she intends to solve.
