Following an incredibly successful theatrical release, fans of Sony's Venom will soon be able to watch the Tom Hardy-starred Spider-Verse film from the comfort of their own home. Just in time for the holiday season, no less.

To promote Venom's upcoming home video release, Sony has released a new trailer that takes a page out of Deadpool's book, presenting the violent antihero film as a lighthearted romantic comedy.

Using Christmas-themed music along with the customary bright red text over a white background, this trailer invites audiences to "fall in love" with the film's story as "two worlds, two hearts become one."

This is accompanied by a contemplative Eddie Brock and Venom's "uplifting" line of "the world is not so ugly after all," not to mention that kiss scene that just about broke the internet upon the film's initial release.

It looks as though its time for films like Love Actually and Four Christmases to step aside, because the world's newest holiday romcom star isn't exactly known for playing well with others. In fact, he's liable to eat them whole.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom Stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, Sope Aluko, Scott Deckert, Marcella Bragio and Michelle Lee. The film will arrive on digital HD on Dec. 11, with a Blu-ray release on Dec. 18.
