Released in February, the Venom teaser trailer triggered a lot of grousing among Marvel Comics devotees, as its footage was heavy on Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock while completely devoid of the titular alien symbiote. Much of that anxiety was soothed two months later with the arrival of the action-packed full-length trailer, which gave fans the character they were accustomed to, complete with enormous, razor-sharp teeth and inhumanly long tongue, only without the signature spider emblem, and never in a full-body shot.

The third trailer, pegged to arrive on Tuesday, July 31, aims to remedy most of that, offering the best look yet at the fan-favorite Marvel villain/antihero. And, if we're lucky, the it may also introduce Riot, another symbiote glimpsed in footage screened at Comic-Con International in San Diego. In the 1993 comic book miniseries Venom: Lethal Protector, which serves as inspiration for director Ruben Fleischer's film, Riot is one of five offspring -- along with Scream, Phage, Lasher and Agony -- extracted from Venom by the Life Foundation.

But what time on Tuesday can we expect to see the trailer, with or without Riot?

Sony China pegs the trailer to drop at 9 p.m. Beijing Time, which is 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT. So, there are no big surprises, and there's little need to keep refreshing your browser. However, if you're on the West Coast, you may need to set your alarm. Or, you know, just look to the web whenever you finally wake up.

Perhaps then we'll get a glimpse of not only Riot but also the "other villains" Fleischer teased at Comic-Con. Although the filmmaker didn't provide any more details, Hardy did say Venom remained relatively faithful to Lethal Protector, which certainly suggests there are multiple symbiotes in play. The second trailer, from April, certainly hinted as much, showing more than one canister of oozing black goo, and multiple "volunteers" for the Life Foundation's research. In Lethal Protector, the Life Foundation is a shadowy corporate survivalist group that’s so convinced that civilization will end in a nuclear holocaust that it begins planning a future utopian society for its wealthy clients. Part of the group’s elaborate scheme involves the creation of five horrific symbiotes forcibly spawned from Venom.

But beyond Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher and Agony, in Venom there's also the looming specter of Carnage, the second most-famous symbiote in Marvel Comics lore. However, it's a safe bet Sony is holding him for the film itself.

Arriving Oct. 5, director Ruben Fleischer’s Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze, Reid Scott and Riz Ahmed.
