WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Venom #28 by Donny Cates, Juan Gedeon, Jesus Aburtov, and VC's Clayton Cowles, available now.

Venom has ended up on an alternate Earth in the third part of the "Venom Beyond" storyline and has found an ongoing war where several underground superheroes with symbiotes attached to them are locked in battle with what is basically the symbiotic version of the Avengers. Eddie Brock also discovered his wife Anne Weying is alive and is this world's version of Venom because Eddie pulled the trigger that fateful day in the church and took his own life. He finally discovers it was his son Dylan who is the villain in this world, Codex, after Eddie met the one man who could help him -- Reed Richards.

What's crazy about being led to Reed Richards is that his travel to this alternate Earth was due to him going to the Ultimate Universe version of Reed Richards, the Maker, for help to begin with. After Brock fell through the wormhole The Maker created and ended up in this world, he found Anne and then met her team of heroes, including Peter Parker, Cletus Kasady, Deadpool and Mania. After he got over the fact that Carnage was a part of the group, they led Eddie to Reed Richards, who was "off his rocker," according to Anne, but is their science tech and leader.

Eddie looked at Reed and seemed less than thrilled as he said, "another one." However, it is not a surprise that Venom ended up with Reed Richards, because this is where the symbiote usually ends up. It all started when Peter Parker and the symbiote hooked up during the "Secret Wars" storyline. Remember, the symbiotes are mostly neutral beings until they attach to a host. When the Venom symbiote attached itself to Peter, it wanted to become a hero until Parker rejected it. However, during this time, Peter worked with Reed to learn how to use the new costume when he thought it was just a suit.

When Peter realized the new costume was an alien symbiote and controlled him as he slept, he wanted to get rid of it. It was Reed that Spider-Man went to for help, and he figured out a way to get the alien off Peter, learning as much as he could about the alien's weaknesses. Through it all, the Venom symbiote felt rejected by Peter, developing a hatred for Spider-Man. However, the symbiote also could have some kindred feelings toward Reed, the one person on Earth who grew to understand what made the alien tick.

This thought also leads to Eddie Brock gravitating to The Maker, the Ultimates Universe version of Reed Richards. Eddie worked with The Maker leading up to falling through the portal into the alternate Earth with Scorpion. What was interesting was that Eddie never trusted The Maker, as no one should.

There was a moment in the issue where Eddie tried to attack The Maker. As expected, Reed knows how to block an attack by Venom and blew Eddie out of the symbiote. The Maker looked at the symbiote and said he has no fight with him and sent it back to Eddie. It seems both Reed and the symbiote feels a connection. As a result, it leads them together when the need arises, regardless of the Earth and the situation.
