Those expecting excessive amounts of Symbiote-covered violence in Venom: Let There Be Carnage will need to adjust their expectations if the film's newly revealed runtime is any indication.

According to Fandango, Venom: Let There Be Carnage's runtime is 90 minutes. While it's possible this is just a placeholder, it's still a noticeably shorter runtime than the original Venom (112 minutes), as well as the last Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home (129 minutes) and the animated family film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (117 minutes).

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will also be shorter than other recent superhero movies like Bloodshot (109 minutes) and Snake Eyes (121 minutes), as well as both of Andy Serkis's prior directorial efforts, Breathe (117 minutes) and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (104 minutes).

The runtime for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is another indicator the superhero movie is finally set to hit movie theater screens. Originally penciled in for an October 2020 launch, Let There Be Carnage experienced several delays in response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. These have included numerous shifts around the fall 2021 calendar and even a briefly rumored delay into 2022 before settling on its current date.

Directed by Andy Serkis and starring Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson, Venom: Let There Be Carnage arrives in theaters on Oct. 1.
