New still images have surfaced giving Marvel fans a better look at the murderous antagonist of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It was promised in the end credits of the previous film that when Cletus Kasady finally got out of prison, there was going to be Carnage. The trailers released for the upcoming film thus far have shown Woody Harrelson taking on the role of the serial killer empowered by a symbiote, soaring his bloodlust to even greater heights. New images posted onto social media provide a closer look at how the genocidal symbiote will appear onscreen.RELATED: A Thor 4 Villain Theory May Unite Marvel's Movie Multiverse - With the Power of Venom

The images greater highlight the weaponry Carnage can manifest in the film, pulled from the comics. The red monster will have tendrils that whip out from his body, along with the ability to shoot projectiles similar to what the villain Riot was able to do in Venom. The new stills show Carnage aiming these tendrils and snarling at his prey, even giving the appearance of squaring off against Venom in one of the photos.

The new stills don't just offer new looks at the symbiote alone, however. Other images see Kasady sporting his rockabilly haircut while tendrils are emerging from his back. Another image sees Eddie Brock conversing with the still-prisoner Kasady, continuing the Silence of the Lambs-like relationship seen in that end-credit scene.

It was recently reported and debunked that Venom: Let There Be Carnage would be delayed to 2022. The film had already been delayed a whole year due to the coronavirus pandemic, moving from its Oct. 2020 release date to Oct. 15, 2021. While Sony has not officially confirmed or denied any additional delays, these images continue to promote and hype up the movie for its eventual release.

The film will serve as the latest installment in the recently rebranded Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). Other films included and set to debut in this universe include Spider-Man: No Way Home, though the film takes place in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, and Morbius, which has been delayed until Jan. 2022. Morbius director Daniel Espinosa may have recently spoiled an appearance by Tom Hardy's Venom in the film as well.

Hardy can be seen in other still images along with those to feature Carnage. The two will also be joined by Naomie Harris' Shriek and Stephen Graham's Patrick Mulligan, though it is unconfirmed if he will become Toxin in the upcoming film. The film is set to release in theaters on Oct. 15, 2021.
