Although Eddie Brock lost his hand in a previous issue, Marvel Comics has given CBR an exclusive preview of Donny Cates and Mark Bagley's Venom which sees the hero using a brutal method to fix the problem.
The preview shows Eddie using the string from his boot to tie off his bleeding arm and then heating up a machete in the fire. Once it's good and hot, he presses the blade to his stump, cauterizing the wound and thus staunching his bleeding. The technique is particularly common in action films when the hero or one of their compatriots has lost a limb.
