The popular series of Honest Trailers is kicking off the new year with a take on Sony's Venom, and if you haven't seen the film, this video will, at the very least, expose you to the plethora of impressive sounds that Tom Hardy is capable of making.

"From the studio that Marvel lets play with their toys," Sony gave us an Eddie Brock mystery accent, a Woody Harrelson Easter egg and a villain with questionable motivations. Venom isn't a perfect film, but it does strive to be entertaining, and a lot of that is captured in this Honest Trailer.

Clocking in at more than 5 minutes long, ScreenJunkies has lots of time to tackle all the important stuff, like Michelle Williams' wig and if Eddie and Venom's relationship is a love story.

Venom released in October and exceeded financial expectations, grossing $213 million domestically, with a worldwide total of $855 million. It proved more popular among audiences than critics, however, with a popular score of 84 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but a critics score of only 28 percent.

The film was directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, based on a screenplay by Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel. Aside from Hardy and Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate and Reid Scott all costarred.
