Venom's new duo of writers will focus on interconnecting stories detailing the lives of both Eddie Brock and his son Dylan.

Ram V will pen Dylan's start as a budding superhero still getting accustomed to the symbiote that once melded with his father, while Al Ewing focuses on Eddie's cosmic role as the King in Black. In December's Venom #3, for instance, Ram V will pen Dylan attempting to learn the ins and outs of the often bloodthirsty Venom symbiote, as well as the harsh reality that he needs to forge his own bond with the unpredictable alien entity.

"When I knew I was going to be writing Dylan's story about his time as Venom I pitched it as a story told through the eyes of a boy on a road-trip wearing his father's jacket learning a thing or two about where his father picked up his scars and scuff-marks along the way," Ram V said. "I think the story interactions between Venom the symbiote, Venom -- his father's symbiote, Dylan's own history and his attempt at finding a new equilibrium are all fascinating things to delve into as we tell this drama through an action-packed tense thriller with a hint of sci-fi, horror."

Ewing, meanwhile, described sharing writing duties with Ram V as similar to playing in a band, and said the duo would "be taking turns in the spotlight, playing Dylan songs or Eddie songs, while the other band member stays in the background."

"Every issue is a new single, every trade is an album, and Eddie and Dylan are our instruments," Ewing said. "They're similar, but they make different notes, produce different sounds, build different stories... As each new single comes out, you'll see how it fits together, forms one big concept album -- or maybe a symphony. And then, when we're ready, we bring all the instruments in for the crescendo -- and that's going to be something to hear."

King in Black concluded with Eddie Brock as the godly ruler of Marvel's symbiotes, taking over the role previously held by the deity Knull. Meanwhile, Dylan assumed the role of the new Venom in Venom #200, merging with the symbiote once belonging to his father and creating a new form with chains on the arms -- a look evocative of Venom co-creator Todd McFarlane's other famous superhero, Spawn.

Venom #3, written by Al Ewing and Ram V with artwork and a cover by Bryan Hitch, goes on sale in December. Issue 1 of the new creative team's run hits comic shops Oct. 13.
