WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for Venom #23 by Donny Cates, Mark Bagley, Andy Owens, Frank Martin and Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

Eddie Brock has been through the ringer lately. After learning of the existence of Knull, the god of the symbiotes, and fighting the monstrous Grendel, Eddie discovered he was father to a son he never knew he had. After that, he took on the frightening might of a resurrected Carnage and then, he exiled himself on an island, where he is currently trying to get rid of Carnage once and for all.

Once "Venom Island" concludes, Eddie will then be heading on the next phase of his arc under writer Donny Cates' tenure. Now, Cates has revealed a hint as to what we can expect — and it just may involve an Iron Man suit.

"The events of Issue 26 kick off this arc called 'Beyond,'" the writer told SYFY Wire. "I've structured my entire run with pieces that reflect each other and talk to each other. What I mean by that is that Volume 1: 'Rex' is about the symbiote and symbiote lore. Volume 2: 'The Abyss' is a reflection of that in that it looked at Eddie's lore, diving deep into who Eddie Brock is and his family."

"Absolute Carnage is a prelude to a larger thing, and we'll see the opposite of what that is coming very soon," Cates continued. "With 'Venom Island', we're looking back at his history, revisiting certain things from Venom's past. With 'Venom Beyond,' all I will say is that we will be looking into the future."

While Cates doesn't reveal what Eddie Brock's secretive future hold, the just-released cover for Venom #26 gives us an idea. On the cover, Brock can be seen piloting an Iron Man-style armor that appears to be pieced together and painted over with the Venom logo. Even the symbiote's eyes and sharp teeth are painted on the armor, which seems to indicate Brock is trying to emulate his symbiote.

In Venom #23, the Avengers bombed the island Venom and Carnage were both marooned on, seemingly destroying both symbiotes for good. Without his "other," Eddie Brock may be looking to continue working as a superhero -- and a Venom-looking Iron Man armor may be the next best thing.

Venom #23 by Donny Cates and Mark Bagley is now on sale from Marvel comics.
