Donny Cates, the writer of Venom and Guardians of the Galaxy at Marvel Comics, teased his Twitter followers with a cryptic post earlier today involving Daredevil actor, Vincent D'Onofrio.

The message reads, "Just had a VERY fun call with @vincentdonofrio about cool secret stuff. Damn. That guy just GETS it man."

D'Onofrio's acting career has spanned decades. While cinema buffs might remember him from Full Metal Jacket, comic and genre fans remember him most for his role as Edgar in Men in Black and Wilson Fisk from Netflix's Daredevil.

While it is unclear why Cates talked to D'Onofrio, it is clear that whatever was discussed is top secret. The immediate thought is Cates is potentially collaborating with D'Onofrio on a secret project that has yet to be announced. Cates could merely be building hype for the reveal of this unknown project.

However, this might not be the case. Until official confirmation is revealed, all we can do is speculate on what the tweet means.

But if there is a project, what could it be? Is Cates writing something with D'Onofrio? Are the two just collaborating and bouncing ideas off one another? Is it a comic project? A screenwriting project? The possibilities, without further confirmation, seem endless.

If you want to see D'Onofrio in a new project following Daredevil's untimely cancellation, he will soon appear on the Netflix series Ratched, inspired by the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, alongside Sarah Paulson.
