With Venom now out on home video everywhere after an impressive theatrical run worldwide, director Ruben Fleischer has shot down the possibility of an alternate, unrated cut of the film being released.

After teasing the potential of an unrated home video release this past September while promoting the film, Fleischer has since recanted the idea of releasing an alternate version while promoting the home video release.

"I’m proud of the movie we’ve put out, and I think that the additional material on the DVD adds a little bit of color to the film," explained Fleischer in an interview with LRM Online. "I don’t feel the need at this point to release an unrated version, I feel like fans seem to really like the movie that we put out."

Previously, star Tom Hardy had mentioned his two favorite scenes from Venom were cut from the final film. With Fleischer denying the possibility of an alternate version, those scenes may never be incorporated into a released version of the film.
