Marvel Comics is teasing a new hybrid of Venom and Carnage for Miles Morales to contend with.

CBR has the exclusive look at promotional art by Ryan Stegman features the Venom/Carnage hybrid balancing on cables with its tongue extended. The teaser also comes with the tagline, "Who Were You When The Lights Went Out?" and a September 2021 release. While the art by itself doesn't give too much away, the filename lists this as being a teaser for "Dark Ages" and "Miles Morales," meaning this could be an upcoming tie-in to the event first introduced in FCBD 2020 X-Men #1.

The story by Tom Taylor, Iban Coello, Brian Reber and VC's Joe Sabino saw a Y2K-style attack on the Marvel Universe. A green wave of energy spreads throughout New York City, causing Iron Man's armor to lose power. During his descent to the ground, Iron Man clips an airplane, which severs one of his legs. Taylor previously confirmed that Dark Ages takes place outside the main Marvel continuity.

Dark Ages was originally scheduled to release in fall 2020, but was delayed when the comic book industry halted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Now, it appears the event will officially kick off in September. With Marvel's September 2021 solicitations due to be released later this month, more information should become available on Dark Ages and any tie-ins.
