WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, now playing in theaters

In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, there are many unexpected moments in the film as Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote try to clean up San Francisco. One of the big ones comes when Venom possesses Anne and her fiancé, Dan, to help Eddie battle Cletus and Carnage. However, as the movie explores adult themes, it also pushes the envelope by delivering a queer moment of sorts after Venom and Eddie split.

Venom and Eddie fall out in the film as the alien wants to traverse the city, eating fiends. He thinks it's justice, but Eddie's adamant it's murder, which leads to them fighting in the apartment. Venom bashes Eddie in and trashes the place before jumping into a biker and then taking various hosts to go on benders.

All this time, Anne realizes something bigger is at play and that Eddie needs his symbiote back. She eventually takes Dan to Mrs. Chen's shop, where she shockingly finds Venom attached to Chen. Eddie's in jail, so Anne needs Venom to break him out to stop the chaos Carnage is causing. However, Venom's hiding out as it wants no part in this war.

It's selfish but understandably so, as no other host besides Eddie could take Venom in. Chen can house the being, however, which causes a desperate Anne to seduce Venom. She talks about how big, strong and heroic Venom is, with this sexy chatter reciprocated by Chen's form.

Obviously, it's the alien speaking through Chen, but the way she's doe-eyed as Anne leans over the counter is quite sultry. Anne plays it up, batting her lashes and pouting her lips, as she can tell Venom has a crush on her. It makes sense as it's always wanted her and Eddie together, so when Venom reciprocates the romance as Chen, it feels like Sony's shaping a subtly queer moment.

Even Dan's taken aback as the women flirt. Ultimately, the raunchy moment ends with Venom joining the quest. It doesn't matter if it's DC movies or Marvel Cinematic Universe properties; queer moments and relationships are not typically taken this far, as seen with the Loki series that touted him as bisexual but didn't really explore it.

In this case, Chen and Anne spice things up while adding some comedy as well. Ultimately, what's most important is this scene fits the narrative. It's done tastefully and feels totally organic to what the characters are about as they try to save Eddie so he can bring his counterpart down.

See how Anne and Mrs. Chen have a pseudo-queer moment in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, in theaters now.
