Vanguard Offers Michael Golden SDCC Exclusive Sketchbook!

Official Press Release

Vanguard Productions has just announced that they will be offering "The Art of Michael Golden" sketchbook for the first time at the San Diego Comic Con, in celebration of their upcoming milestone art book "Excess: The Art of Michael Golden," due to hit the stands in the Fall.

But, luckily, you don't have to wait until the Fall to get a taste of great Golden art--thanks to this team-up between Golden and Vanguard, as Michael makes his first ever appearance at the San Diego Comic Con, signing the new sketchbook throughout the show. And, to top it all off, the special publication features an eye-popping Vampirella cover, in cooperation with Harris Comics, that is, well, to die for!

But that's not surprising!

Known for his detailed, influential work on "The 'Nam," "Micronauts," "G.I. Joe," "Dr. Strange, " and "Batman" among much more, as well as being the co-creator of Rogue from the "X-Men." Golden's work can currently be seen on covers for "Iron Man," "Hero for Hire," and "Classic Battlestar Gallactica." In fact, the new sketchbook and art book from Vanguard are a major part of a wellspring of new material on the horizon for all those hungry Michael Golden art fans.

"Our new books on Michael Golden, both from Vanguard and TwoMorrows, focus on all aspects of his career," confirmed his agent Renee Witterstaetter, "While revealing his style, technique and just what it is about him that has influenced generations of artists. We wanted to do something unique to showcase Golden, so the SDCC exclusive sketchbook with Vanguard that Michael will be signing, is a must have for any Golden collector or appreciator of finely rendered art."

Golden will be signing both the sketchbook and "Manga Bucky O'Hare" trade at the Vanguard booth at the following times:

Friday from 11-12;

Saturday from 12-1; and

Sunday from 11-12.

But be sure to check in with Vanguard for more details on this rare West Coast appearance from an artist routinely called "the reclusive one," or contact Vanguard directly at: www.creativemix.com for more details on this exciting event.

The San Diego Comic Con takes place July 25-29th at the San Diego Convention Center. Go to: www.comic-con.org for more details. For information on the works of Michael Golden, contact: evaink@aol.com
