Vagrant Queen will not be returning for a second season on Syfy.

The comic book-based space western series has been canceled by Syfy after one season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vagrant Queen struggled to find an audience, averaging "417,000 total viewers and a mere 131,000 in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing." The series was moved from its original time slot of 10 p.m. on Fridays to 11 p.m. on Thursdays after three episodes, as the latter slot tends to yield strong ratings for late-night programming. However, while the move resulted in Vagrant Queen seeing an 11 percent week-to-week gain, Season 1 still concluded as one of Syfy's lowest-rated shows since 2019.

Based on the Vault comic book series of the same name by Magdalene Visaggio and Jason Smith, Vagrant Queen was created for television by Jem Garrard. The series starred Adriyan Rae as Elida, an outlaw who is forced to return to her kingdom after new information regarding her long-lost mother comes to light. The show premiered its 10-episode first season late this past March, concluding earlier this month.

Vagrant Queen stars Adriyan Rae, Tim Rozon, Alex McGregor and Paul du Toit.
