'Vacation' Brings Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day Along For the Ride

Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are heading on Vacation together. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo will appear in New Line's continuation of the comedy franchise.

Hemsworth will play a news anchor who works with Rusty's sister, while Day will pop up as a rafting guide.

They join a cast led by Ed Helms as a grown-up Rusty Griswold, who wants to take his family on a road trip like the one he went on in 1983's National Lampoon's Vacation. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold, and Christina Applegate will play Helms' wife.

Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein penned the script after signing on to write and direct the project in 2012. That same year, Helms earned the part of Russ Griswold.

The revival plans hit a bump last year when production was delayed because of differing opinions over whether the film should be rated R or PG-13.
