UPDATED: Josh Trank's "FF" Twitter Conversation Revealed to be Hoax

UPDATED 8/25/2014 @ 9:13 AM: The article below was based on a purported Twitter account for director Josh Trank which has since been discovered to be fake and deleted. The Thing photo first surfaced a month ago, leading to some outlets receiving takedown notices from 20th Century Fox.

As the months of production have gone by for 20th Century Fox's film reboot of Marvel's "Fantastic Four," the studio and creative team behind the picture have remained tight-lipped about what's in store for the family of adventurers.

But this weekend, director Josh Trank appeared to create a new Twitter account to both announce an end to filming and being a wave of new releases surrounding the project. The biggest of these is a first look at how the movie's version of The Thing would look. Trank shared the following photo of Ben Grimm's (actor Jamie Bell) superhero alter ego:

After that, the director opened up for a quick Q&A with fans about the film. There, he both confirmed some of the rumors surrounding the movie and set others aside. "Found footage, no," he wrote in response to queries that "FF" would match the style of his breakout feature "Chronicle." Trank did add that, "This isn't a Chronicle sequel or reboot. It's a Fantastic Four origin. Same feel, maybe."

Trank also spoke briefly on the casting of Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, saying, "I didn't choose to make Johnny black. I chose to make Michael Johnny." Asked how the difference in ethnicities would impact the status of Storm siblings Johnny and Sue (played by Kate Mara), the director said there would be a "Minor change, they're still siblings."

Finally, asked about the Fantastic Four's uniforms, the director said of the outfits "They're not tight. I'll tell you that."
