Artist Valerio Schiti has posted several early designs of Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat, from his time drawing for Guardians of the Galaxy. Schiti served as artist on the title with former Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis, during which Kitty joined the team."The new design of Shadowcat, when she was a Guardian Of The Galaxy," Schiti wrote in his Twitter post sharing the art. "This lasted just for a very short time. (Bonus: the usual bunch of unused ideas)."RELATED: Kitty Pryde & Star-Lord: What Happened to Marvel's Star-Crossed Couple?

The designs pay homage to Kitty's time with the X-Men, particularly the flowing blue outfit she wore as a member of Excalibur. Other earlier designs featured a yellow and blue scheme similar to Kitty's Astonishing X-Men costume.

Kitty would ultimately wear a costume resembling the one worn by Peter Quill/Star-Lord, as she helped lead the Guardians while he was serving as emperor of Spartax. The two even had a brief relationship, with Quill proposing to Kitty; they ultimately broke it off and she returned to Earth, where she took over leadership of the X-Men. Currently, Kitty serves as leader the Marauders.

Schiti currently illustrates Tony Stark: Iron Man for Marvel, and also illustrated New Avengers and Marvel Two-In-One. He will also serve as illustrator for the Empyre miniseries, which sees the Avengers and Fantastic Four battling the combined Kree and Skrull forces.
