Over the last decade, superhero movies, mainly Marvel movies, have become extremely popular among a diverse group of fans. In fact, it's become so pervasive that the growing fandom dig into every aspect of these films before and after they’re released. One of the most, if not the most sought-after tidbits are concept art for said movies. Luckily for us all, it just so happens that various pieces have recently surfaced online.

With several Marvel superhero movies being released between 2018 and 2019, the debut of concept art for these films shouldn’t come as a surprise. The thing is, fans interested in these images don’t know they’re out there. Because information in the entertainment industry moves so fast today, sometimes concept art gets overlooked. Be it for breaking news or practically anything else that has to do with these films, concept art tends to go by the wayside. In lieu of that, we’ve grouped together 15 concept art pieces that you probably haven't seen yet, but will absolutely tantalize your, whether you're a hardcore fanboy or girl or just a casual observer!

15 BLEEDING EDGE HULKBUSTER

Infinity War Bleeding Edge Hulkbuster concept art Finalized

Most of us who've seen the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War know that Stark is bringing the Hulkbuster back into action, evidenced by it flying onto the battlefield where Captain America fights the Outriders. What fans don't know is that Stark will create a second Hulkbuster, the Hulkbuster 2.0. The concept art is labeled as such, but the real proof lies in its appearance.

Unlike the one which debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the new Hulkbuster possesses a much sleeker design. This version also appears to be one solid suit. While it could assemble just like the original, its sleek design is the biggest indication of this being a variation of Bleeding Edge. Since Stark can manipulate the tech however he sees fit, forming a Hulkbuster out of it isn't preposterous. That also means we could witness a Bleeding Edge Hulkbuster saving the day in the end. Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.

14 BRAD PITT AS CABLE IN DEADPOOL 2

Deadpool 2 Brad Pitt Cable concept art Finalized

Even though Josh Brolin was an excellent casting choice for Cable in Deadpool 2, some will argue that Brad Pitt would've made for a better candidate. He was Fox's first choice but stepped out of the running at the last moment. Nevertheless, Pitt has the right look for the part and the concept art speaks for itself.

The image depicts a seamless meld between man and machine, along with traits found in the comics version of Cable.

The craftsmanship of this art also adds evidence to claims of Fox's intent to have Pitt in the role. Otherwise, why spend so much time drafting up a realistic version of Pitt as Cable? The good news is that Brolin should deliver the Cable fave have been calling for.

Deadpool 2 premieres on May 18, 2018.

13 NEW COSTUME DESIGN FOR THOR

Infinity War Thor Finalized

Coming as no surprise to any of us, Thor will receive yet another new costume, this time in Avengers: Infinity War. A fully rendered piece of concept art featuring Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) shows off his godly new suit, which shows him brandishing another Asgardian suit. The emblems on the front of his suit being proof of this. There is, however, a chance that Thor will borrow a similar looking vest from the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Of course, it's probably an Asgardian battle armor; the type that a passenger aboard his planet's exile ship could've gifted to him. Additionally, the concept art of Thor shows us how his suit will function as a conduit for his Thunder God powers. Since the emblems on Thor's suit appear to be containing his power, it's possibly the suit will be more than just a new costume.

12 BRIE LARSON AS CAROL DANVERS IN CAPTAIN MARVEL

Captain Marvel Brie Larson Concept Art Finalized

The concept art of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers debuted exclusively for everyone in attendance at SDCC 2017. While only the lucky few attending the panel got to see the concept art, it popped up online shortly after. The art depicts Larson in the usual red and blues. Although, new concerns have arisen since then.

With Captain Marvel currently in the midst of filming, set images have leaked off the set.

The latest batch were of Brie Larson, but she's in a different costume than the one shown at SDCC. The new costume still holds the same design, just the color scheme has changed. Rather than red and blue, Larson's suit is now green and black. Its appearance does raise a lot of questions; of course, it's also a color scheme that we have seen on the character in the comics, and has a lot of history with the Captain marvel character in general. For now, though, we'll have to just wait and see.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 6, 2019.

11 AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR POSTER ART

Avengers Infinity War concept art Finalized

In the above concept art, two of Earth's Mightiest are shown standing side by side with one another. They're also joined by several Guardians, and Spider-Man. The reason why they've all been placed together isn't clear but it's obviously symbolic of the alliance they'll form during Avengers: Infinity War. Keep in mind that these particular heroes joined together could hold a secondary meaning.

Generally, Marvel movies have used posters to tease team-ups in upcoming films. The featured image is usually of a major sequence in the film, along with most of the characters involved front and center. So, if that same principle applies to the above posters, then we can probably count on Iron Man, Captain America, Teenage Groot, Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon, and Spider-Man joining forces.

10 IRON MAN'S PLASMA CANNONS

Infinity War Bleeding Edge Iron Man concept art Finalized

In case you were wondering, Tony Stark is definitely getting a new suit of armor in Avengers: Infinity War and it's not just any suit. Stark's new suit of armor will be made from the Bleeding Edge tech, an advanced form of nanotechnology. It utilizes nanites injected in the body of their host to project them at will. For Stark, he'll use the nanites to form a highly advanced Iron Man armor around his body.

But that's not the only thing he'll use the new tech for.

Apparently, Stark will also use the Bleeding Edge tech to create plasma based weapons; the concept art above being evidence of this. It shows the Bleeding Edge armor and its arms that have been modified to create weaponry like a retractable blade, missile launcher, and a plasma cannon. Alone, that proves Stark can create practically anything with the Bleeding Edge.

9 CAPTAIN MARVEL / CAROL DANVERS VERSUS THE KREE

Captain-Marvel-Concept-Art

Another piece of concept art released at SDCC 2017 depicts Carol Danvers fighting off a troop of Kree soldiers. The image was intended to tease the fight Danvers will have with an invading alien race, but the Kree's presence has us questioning what role they'll play in the Captain Marvel movie. They could either play allies to Carol Danvers or become enemies just the same. But reasonably speaking, the concept art points to the Kree being enemies to all, mostly Carol Danvers.

In any case, the Kree concept art backs up claims of them waging war on Earth. The bad news is that the Avengers won't be around to help. Since the Captain Marvel movie takes place in the '90s, the Kree / Skrull war will be left to Carol Danvers and S.H.I.E.L.D. to figure out. Of course, we can't rule out the possibility of another hero showing up alongside her.

8 IRON LEGION 3.0

iron legion

This piece of concept art was included in the behind-the-scenes look at Avengers: Infinity War. Within the featurette, a quick glimpse at Tony Stark's manufacturing line was shown. On the line, several generic Iron Man suits appear to be nearing completion. They're definitely not Bleeding Edge type, which gives us the impression that these Iron Man suits could be drones, much like Stark's Iron Legion in Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Assuming Stark is creating another Iron Legion, that could mean his goal of policing the entire world could still be on the agenda. Even though Stark put aside his mission of world domination in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the grim situation presented in Avengers: Infinity War could give way to Stark changing his mind once again. Then again, Pepper Potts might not be too happy with Stark creating a new Iron legion.

7 COLOSSUS IN DEADPOOL 2

Deadpool 2 Colossus Concept Art Finalized

Apparently, more of the dropped concept art for Deadpool 2 also included several variations on Colossus (Stefan Kapicic). While the concept art doesn't differ much from Colossus' design in Deadpool, he will be receiving a slightly new X-Men suit in the following film. A brief glance at Colossus in the "Meet Cable" trailer adds evidence to back up those claims.

In the trailer, Colossus can be seen hugging Wade Wilson while inside the X-Mansion.

Rather than wearing a leather vest, Colossus appears to be in more of a cloth-like garment . The vest still holds the classic X insignia, but its placement is slightly lower on Colossus' torso. Given that those are the only two noticeable differences, Colossus probably won't change very much. Of course, we shouldn't rule out the possibility of Colossus receiving an all new X-suit in Deadpool 2. His wool vest doesn't appear too durable either, so a battle suit might replace the loose fitting vest if it's torn up in a fight.

6 WADE WILSON'S X-MEN COSTUME

Deadpool 2 Concept Art Finalized

Another piece of concept art that may or may not make its way into Deadpool 2 shows off Wade Wilson's X-Men outfit. Well technically, it's just an X-Men t-shirt with Deadpool's name on it and a pair of gym shorts, so it may be insignificant. However, Wade dressed in an X-Men uniform could mean he's reconsidered joining the team — or rather, an offshoot of the X-Men. That offshoot is, of course, likely to be X-Force.

Regardless of the context, Wade's secondary costume appears to be part of a gimmick of some sort. Wade Wilson is known for being involved in all sorts of shenanigans, and a quick jab at the X-Men would be characteristic of him. That said, the concept art might've been made for a completely different purpose. If that is the case, we may never know exactly what the new costume was made for.

5 ANT-MAN AND THE WASP POSTER ART

ant-man wasp

Before the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer debuted, not many promotional images were released. Because of that, we didn't have the slightest idea of what was going to take place in the Ant-Man sequel. However, the first piece of concept art for the film did provide us with some insight.

As you can see, the image depicts Ant-Man / Giant Man and Wasp taking on a troop of soldiers.

They're also joined by a mysterious mercenary who can't be identified in the above image. Wasp can be seen kicking him in the face, but there's no telling who this character is. He could be a secondary antagonist or possibly a henchman working for Ghost (Hannah John-Camen). Either way, he likely has a pivotal role to play. After all, if he's front and center on the first piece of promo art, he's probably integral to the plot about to unfold.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters on July 6, 2018.

4 SYMBIOTE SCULPTURE OF VENOM

Venom_Colored_Concept_Art Finalized

At the moment, footage for Sony's Venom movie is quite scarce. A teaser trailer was released not too long ago but it didn't reveal much about the plot, nor did it give us a look at Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) in the symbiote costume. Fortunately, someone off the set managed to capture a shot of the Venom sculpture.

While the sculpture image only gives us a look at Venom from the neck up, it does well to quell any fears of Hardy's Venom turning out like the horrid version in Spider-Man 3. In that film, the live-action version of Venom was harshly criticized for its poor design and poor choice of casting. Luckily, that doesn't appear to be the case with Sony's new vision for the character. The sculpture above is evidence of this.

Venom premieres on October 5, 2018.

3 DEMON BEAR ARTWORK

XMen New Mutants Demon Bear Finalized

For anyone not keeping up with Fox's latest projects, New Mutants will be the studio's first horror movie take on X-Men movies. It's also confirmed to follow the Demon Bear storyline from the comics, wherein a malevolent entity manifests itself from the mind of Danielle Moonstar. She and the other mutants then go on to battle Demon Bear on several occasions.

Our first look at their fight came in the form of an animated storyboard, accompanied by a piece of concept art.

The concept art depicts Demon Bear fighting the new mutants in their X-suits, which is quite interesting for a lot of reasons. For one, the mutant children seen in the New Mutants trailer don't appear to be ready for battle. They're dealing with personal demons of their own and have the "doctors" to worry about, so it doesn't seem like they'll be suiting up anytime soon.

New Mutants opens in theaters everywhere on February 22, 2019.

2 FIRST LOOK AT THE SKRULLS

Captain Marvel - Skrull Concept Art Finalized

The final piece of concept art revealed at SDCC gave fans their first look at the Skrulls. They're the opposing alien force that'll collide with Carol Danvers when she suits up as Captain Marvel. The Skrulls will be fighting opposite the Kree as a war is waged on Earth. Of course, both sides will find issue with Carol Danvers, as is evidenced by the concept art released.

As for the Skrull concept art, it tells us a few things about the secretive alien race. For one, they'll don battle suits. Even though most fans expect to see the Skrull disguised as humans, their purple and silver-accented costumes tell us that the Skrull won't remain in hiding forever. Secondly, the separate designs seem indicative of two types of Skrulls. While the one on the right side looks like a generic Skrull, the other appears to be bulkier — possibly a Super Skrull?

1 X-FORCE TEAM POSTER ART

X-Force Concept Art Finalized

Before Drew Goddard became attached to the X-Force movie in development, Jeff Wadlow was set to helm the project. During that time, a lot of progress was made. One of the biggest developments was a piece of concept art featuring the whole team in a mock-up poster. Gregory Semkow designed the poster, which teased a team made up of Cable, Warpath, Domino, and Shatterstar. It shows them standing side by side in hero poses but not much else.

There's something we need to acknowledge about the concept art.

Since Wadlow left the project, Drew Goddard has supposedly started over. What that means is the concept art designed by Semkow probably wont be used. If Goddard is taking a different approach, his vision for X-Force likely differs Wadlow's. The "Meet Cable" trailer also showed Deadpool standing alongside a team of mercenaries that resemble X-Force, and that team is vastly different.
