Universal Pictures has released a second international trailer for "Kick-Ass 2" that places the focus squarely on busting skulls and, well, kicking ass.

However, there's still room amid all of the action to break down the premise of director Jeff Wadlow's sequel, based on the "Kick-Ass 2" and "Hit-Girl" comics by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.: Following the events of the 2010 action comedy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kick-Ass and Chloë Grace Moretz's Hit-Girl are joined on the streets by more costumed heroes, led by Colonel Stars and Stripes (played by Jim Carrey, who gets to deliver lines like, "Try to have fun. Otherwise, what's the point?" and "Yeah, there's a dog on your balls."). Meanwhile, the police vow to crack down on the masked vigilantes, even as Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist, rechristened The Mother Fucker, assembles his own team of supervillains to "make Kick-Ass pay for what he did to my dad!"

"Kick-Ass 2" arrives in theaters Aug. 16.
