In the arcade of Hollywood, Universal Picture has given writer F. Scott Frazier the next turn at Asteroids.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the writer of The Numbers Station, Autobahn and Berliner will try his hand at the film adaptation of the 1979 Atari classic.

A relatively simple game that finds the player controlling a spaceship spinning around and blasting oncoming space debris, Asteroids was snatched up in 2009 by Universal. Since then a parade of writers have been hired to take a stab at the script, including Evan Spiliotopoulos (Hercules) and Jez Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow).
