Universal Pictures has decided to ax its planned adaptation of Term Life, the Image Comics series by A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow, Deadline reports.

The comic follows Nick Barrow, a guy with a price on his head who needs to stay alive for 21 days in order for his life insurance policy to kick in so his death will eventually help his daughter.

The project was announced in June, with Vince Vaughn set to star as Barrow, and his longtime friend and collaborator Peter Billingsley (Couples Retreat) attached to direct. Hailee Steinfeld was recently announced as playing the daughter

Because of some recent high-level personnel shifts at Universal, a few projects have been reevaluated and cut, like Term Life.
