Battleship's sinking at the box office hasn't seemed to scare Hollywood off of toy properties for the time being. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Studios is in talks with LEGO to make a live-action film based on the toymaker's Hero Factory line. This series of buildable robots for kids was launched in 2010 to replace the similar Bionicle line.

Hero Factory has already been adapted as a comic book by DC Comics and as an animated television series. Warner Bros. is also developing a CGI-animated movie based on the toys.

Writers Michael Finch and Alex Litvak are also in talks to pen the first draft. The duo is best known for Predators, with Litvak also having written last year's The Three Musketeers. The duo also worked on a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe script that wound up in development hell.
