Undertaker and AJ Styles went to war in a cinematic WWE Boneyard Match on the first night of WrestleMania 36.

The match was the main event on Saturday night, and it featured a moment in the match where Undertaker took a swing at Styles, missed, and smashed his fist against the glass of the hearse, resulting in a cut that caused bleeding on Undertaker's forearm. According to WhatCulture, the cut and blood was an accident, though it was one that WWE chose to keep in the match.

Undertaker drew blood, which fans saw both on his arm and when some of his blood ended up on Styles. There was some consideration about reshooting it, but the wrestlers and crew decided that it looked cool and kept it. WWE officials didn't even bandage up Undertaker, and the match continued despite the injury.

The Dead Man ended up brawling all over the boneyard with Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and a whole host of Druids, and the blood dripping from Undertaker's arm was just added to the spectacle.

What resulted was one of the most unique matches in WrestleMania history. While polarizing to some wrestling fans online, it received mostly positive reviews and comments from wrestlers and those inside the industry, both from WWE and other companies as well.

It was also a match that might be Undertaker's last in WWE, as he commented on Instagram that it was "a hell of a ride" and used the hashtag #30years. If so, spilling a little blood would be a fitting end to a phenomenal career.
