10 Turning Red Is One Of The Most Relatable Movies For Young Women

Mei As The Red Panda, Turning Red

Turning Red, which premiered in March 2022, was criticized for being unrelatable and inappropriate. However, many young women will find this to be the most relatable Disney movie to come out in recent years.

Most young women who grew up in the times of The Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, or One Direction will be able to relate to Mei and her friends and their obsession with 4*Town. The way the girls act is exactly how fangirls have always acted about their favorite boybands, and even other franchises. Friya is obsessed with what seems to be a reference to the Twilight saga and often pretends to be a vampire. Turning Red allows for great conversation, and is one of the most relatable movies for that demographic of viewers.
