Uncanny X-Men #1 is written by Marvel-exclusive writer Ed Brisson, Kelly Thompson and Matthew Rosenberg. Its artist team includes Pere Pérez, Mahmud Asrar, R.B. Silva and Yildiray Cinar. CBR readers can find our review of Uncanny X-Men #1 here.
This issue is intended as a kick-off for a new era of X-Men comics. It will be friendly to new readers while still pulling from arcs beloved by long-time fans. Although the writers were cryptic about the series in a CBR-exclusive interview back in September, details have been pouring in ever since. The series promises, among many other surprise twists, the return of mutant terrorist group the Mutant Liberation Front, the resurrection of Cyclops after his death in 2016 and the reintroduction of a “controversial Whedon-era plotline.” The series brings together all the various X-teams together for one enormous event.
Uncanny X-Men #1 Director's Cut is available now on Marvel's digital comics shop for $7.99.
The next issue in the ongoing, Uncanny X-Men #2, will be released both physically and digitally tomorrow, Nov. 21.
