When Marvel's premier team of mutants gets to the end of Uncanny X-Men's first ten-part storyline, devastation awaits them. At least, that's what the teaser and cover art for Issue #11 promises.

The arc, written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Salvador Larroca, kicks off in February, and apparently features the soon to be resurrected Cyclops as he presumably comes to terms with his actions just before he died, and the repercussions his actions have had across the Marvel Universe. Not only had the leader of the X-Men killed Professor Xavier while under influence of the Phoenix Force, he eventually died due to Terrigen poisoning in 2016's Death of X, a storyline that saw him lead his team into all-out war with the Inhumans.

The cover, illustrated by Larroca, shows a shattered Scott Summers kneeling among the wreckage that was the Xavier Institute. It's unclear, though, whether it's the same school as the current Xavier Institute for Mutant Education and Outreach, as above the tormented former X-leader we see an image of the team, himself included, dressed in the costumes they wore during the Jim Lee era of the mid-90s.

Cyclops is slated to return in January's Uncanny X-Men Annual #1, by Ed Brisson and Carlos Gomez, though how and why he'll make his comeback form the afterlife remains a mystery. Similarly shrouded in secrecy is whether his return will tie into the events of Uncanny's current "Disassembled" arc, or if the Annual's tale will stand on its own, acting as a prelude to whatever comes next for Cyclops and the rest of the X-Men.
