The first in the Nolan trilogy of Batman movies and one of the most important comic book films of all time, Batman Begins helped to reinvigorate the comic book genre and helped to resurrect the Batman as a viable movie character after the cinematic disaster that was Batman and Robin.

That being said, there are some minor elements of the movie that do raise questions. It isn’t fair to call these plot holes and they don’t make the film worse by any means, they’re simply eyebrow raisers that can often change a viewer's reaction to certain scenes.

10 How’d He Get The Tumbler Back

Batman Tumbler

One of the most iconic scenes in the movie came when Bruce Wayne visited Wayne Enterprises and gave the Tumbler a test drive with Lucius Fox. After being thoroughly impressed with the car, Wayne turns to Fox and asks ‘does it come in black’?

However, how did Bruce Wayne get the Tumbler back to Wayne Manor without raising any eyebrows? Did he place it on a truck and drive the Batmobile there himself?

9 Why Is Flass Still A Cop

Fans of the movie will know that Flass is the corrupt cop that works with Gordon. Throughout the movie, Flass is seen to work with Carmine Falcone and even steal from small business owners, sometimes in front of Gordon.

While the film is clear that Gotham is corrupt, it isn’t clear as to how it could be corrupt to such a degree that Flass can be so blatant with his wrongdoing. Commissioner Loeb wasn’t corrupt, so Gordon could have easily reported him.

8 Did The Other Ninjas Know About Ducard

Despite originally introducing himself as Ducard, it is revealed at the end of the movie that Liam Neeson’s character is actually Ra’s Al Ghul, the Demon’s Head, and the leader of the League of Shadows.

However, was this secret kept throughout the League of Shadows, or was it only hidden from new recruits to the league, which is why Bruce wasn’t privy to this information?

7 How Did Alfred Get On The Roof

Alfred Batman Begins

One of the most memorable scenes from the movie was when, after getting poisoned and set on fire by the Scarecrow, Batman jumps out of a window and climbs to the roof of a building, calling Alfred and asking for help.

However, how did Alfred get to this rooftop? When he reached the roof, how did he get Batman down? It’s clear that Alfred is elderly and Bruce Wayne must weigh over 200 pounds without the Batsuit.

6 How’d He Get The Tumbler To Arkham

Another iconic scene in the movie was Batman’s police escape in the Batmobile, with the Caped Crusader frantically driving back to the Batcave so he could save Rachel Dawes from the Scarecrow’s fear toxin.

That being said, it’s clear that the police wouldn’t just allow this giant car to pass by them without a chase (is it even road legal?), so how did Batman get the Tumbler to the asylum before the car chase?

5 Why’d The DA Go To The Ship By Himself

Katie Holmes 1

Batman’s appearance and subsequent defeat of Carmine Falcone gave the Gotham District Attorney office the courage to go after Gotham’s organized crime, with Rachel pushing her boss to do so.

However, one scene shows Rachel’s boss and Gotham District Attorney Carl Finch investigating a mysterious shipping container, only to be killed by some corrupt shipping workers. Why did he go to this container by himself at nighttime? Surely he should’ve had a police escort.

4 Joe Chill’s Murderer

One of the major moments in Bruce Wayne’s pre-Batman life was the murder of Joe Chill. Wayne attended the trial of his parents’ murderer so that he could get revenge and kill Chill himself.

However, Falcone has Chill murdered publicly, sending a blonde woman to kill Joe Chill on his behalf. This raises the question, though, why did this woman kill Chill so publicly, knowing that she would be arrested instantly?

3 Water Supply Poison

Batman Begins Scarecrow Fear Toxin

The central plot of the movie was how Scarecrow had laced Gotham’s water supply with his fear toxin. The entirety of Gotham’s water supply was contaminated with this toxin, the only reason people didn’t feel the effects was that it had to be absorbed through the lungs.

So, the League of Shadows stole a Wayne Enterprises Microwave Emitter to vaporize Gotham’s water supply and poison the city. However, people boil and vaporize water every day, whether it be making a cup of tea or boiling water for pasta. How come these people weren’t affected?

2 Golf Secretary

Upon his return to Gotham, Bruce Wayne returned to Wayne Enterprises so he could find a job in the company, get his Batman tech, and work out a way in which he can gain control of his father’s company again.

Famously, Wayne arrives, speaks to the secretary, and is very soon teaching her how to putt a ball with a golf set. However, how did the topic of conversation lead to Wayne teaching this secretary how to play golf?

1 Ra’s Says Bruce Left Him For Dead?

After Ra’s Al Ghul arrives at Wayne Manor in formal dress and reveals himself to Bruce Wayne at the climax of the movie, Ra’s begins to burn Wayne Manor and says ‘you burned my house and left me for dead, consider us even’. However, this is confusing for viewers.

While Wayne did indeed burn down the League of Shadows’ base, he certainly didn’t leave Ra’s for dead. So, why does Ra’s believe that Wayne did leave him for dead?
