A couple of diehard fans of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's The Umbrella Academy got "super married" in a Netflix-sponsored wedding when the series premiered last Friday.

When Nick "Ducky" Vojtek and Katharine "Kat" Nitschke first met, a shared interest in the Dark Horse Comics series played a big part in their courtship. Netflix tracked the duo down and helped them with their dream wedding, which was inspired by the dark themes of the show.

In Times Square, the spouses-to-be were joined by a parade filled with violinists and people carrying black umbrellas in reference to Way's obsession with black parades and romance. Along with family, friends and strangers-turned-well-wishers, they then made their way to Bryant Park, where everyone assembled beneath a 60-foot umbrella.

Once beneath the massive structure, the lovers exchanged vows in a goth ceremony, had their first dance and celebrated with a toast at the series' famous Griddy’s Doughnut pop-up shop. They were even joined by someone impersonating the flamboyant Klaus, a member of the superhero family. Because this procession was a nostalgic trip to the mid-2000s, fans can see the wedding photos on a special Myspace page.
