The second season of The Umbrella Academy is coming to Netflix, and now fans can find out what's in store for the Hargreeves children with a look at the season's synopsis.

The Umbrella Academy was a huge hit when it landed on Netflix in 2019 and was quickly given the green light for Season 2 from the streaming giant. Ahead of its upcoming release, The Umbrella Academy has released an official synopsis and revealed where the Hargreeves ended up after they failed to prevent the destruction of Earth but managed to transport themselves to safety.

The synopsis for Season 2 is an apocalyptic trip through time that scatters the children across different time periods in Dallas, Texas:

Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right - the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which - spoiler alert! - turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.

Based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's comic series of the same name, The Umbrella Academy focuses on a family of superpowered children and their unique abilities. Starring the likes of Ellen Page, Tom Hopper and Robert Sheenan, Season 1 served as a loose adaptation of the comics.

There are currently three volumes of The Umbrella Academy, with the second one being aptly named "Dallas." The Umbrella Academy: Dallas featured a plot with a robotic Abraham Lincoln, a talking goldfish and the assassination of John. F. Kennedy. However, fans will have to wait and see if these storylines make it into Season 2. The Umbrella Academy was a certified hit that was watched by 45 million households in its first month, meaning there are plenty of fans waiting to find out what happens next.

Starring Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min, The Umbrella Academy's second season begins streaming on July 31. Steve Blackman will continue to act as showrunner and executive producer, with Sylvain White serving as a new director. Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy is currently available on Netflix.
