Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page thanked fans for their support in a new post.

Page -- known for portraying Vanya Hargreeves in the hit Netflix series --  showed their gratitude for the outpouring of love that followed the actor's announcement that he was trans on Twitter earlier this month; the tweet stated their name change and their pronouns, which are he/they. "From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support has been the greatest gift," they said in the caption of a selfie on Instagram. "Stay safe. Be there for each other. If you are able, support @transanta and @translifeline. See you in 2021. Xoxo Elliot."

Once again, Page was met with an outpour of support from fans and fellow celebrities in the comments of the post. Jennifer Garner said, "Major, huge love to you, Elliot," while James Gunn showed his love with a simple heart emoji. Trans Lifeline -- a hotline dedicated to helping trans people through peer and crisis support -- also thanked Page for spreading the word about their work.

Page's cinematic breakthrough was the hit film Juno, in which they played the titular character. He then went on to play Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat in X-Men: The Last Stand, a role they reprised in the 2014 film Days of Future Past. Since 2019, he's starred as Vanya Hargreeves in the Netflix original Umbrella Academy. Page will return as the character in the show's third season.
