Netflix has released the second trailer for its upcoming Ultraman revival, which is slated to premiere April 1.

The two-minute clip  focuses on Shinjiro, the son of Shin, the original Ultraman who's forced to take over his father's mantle 12 years after the events of the original series. With returning villains such as Bemular and new threats like Pseudo-Man emerging in the wake of his father's retirement, Shinjiro finds himself struggling to live up to the family's mantle.

What makes Shinjiro's journey all the more perilous is that new heroes have risen to the challenge to save Japan, with characters like Seiji Hokuto suiting up to stave off the new tyrants. However, as the trailer shows, Shinjiro will struggle to realize who's really friend or foe as he tries to honor his family legacy.

The anime from Production I.G. (Blood: The Last Vampire) will be directed by Kenjj Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Applessed Alpha). The series is based on the Ultraman sequel manga written by Eiichi Shimizu with illustrations by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, which debuted in 2011 and has since been collected in 10 volumes.
