United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson compared himself and Britain to the Incredible Hulk in relation to Brexit.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Johnson said, "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets. Hulk always escaped, no matter how tightly bound in he seemed to be - and that is the case for this country. We will come out on October 31... Banner might be bound in manacles, but when provoked he would explode out of them."

Johnson became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in July following former leader Theresa May's resignation. Politically, he's had to deal with the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union following a 2016 referendum. Johnson's remarks follow Parliament rejecting his plan to leave the EU without a deal.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Bruce Banner/Hulk first appeared in 1962's Incredible Hulk #1. The powerful hero has been a key member of such groups as the Avengers. There have been several live-action adaptations featuring the character, with Mark Ruffalo most recently appearing as Banner/Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
