Fans looking forward to the launch of "Assassin's Creed Syndicate," the latest installment of Ubisoft's popular historical action video game series, can add another item to their list of things to get excited for. Titan Comics announced today that it has landed the license to create new comics based on the franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, artist Neil Edwards and an as yet unnamed writer will be responsible for bringing the latest comic book incarnation of the game to life.

"We're really hoping to surprise readers with the direction for this new series," Titan editor Lizzie Kaye tells THR, calling the franchise "a world that is perfect for us to explore, expand and inhabit with a raft of new characters in new settings."

DC Comics previously held the "Assassin's Creed" comic book license, releasing a series by Karl Kerschl and Cameron Stewart in 2010. Michael Fassbender is currently attached to star in a movie based on the franchise, and the next game in the series, "Assassin's Creed Syndicate," is slated to arrive in stores this October.
