Ubisoft has removed Hugues Ricour from his position as managing director of its Singapore studio due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

"Effective immediately, Hugues Ricour is no longer Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore," Ubisoft Chief Studios Operating Officer Virginie Haas wrote in a mass email. "The results of the leadership audit that was conducted in the last few weeks by our external partners makes it impossible for him to continue in this position."

A spokesperson for Ubisoft confirmed that, while Ricour would no longer be managing director at the Singapore studio, his tenure at the company would continue, albeit in a different office. "We can confirm that Hugues Ricour is both stepping down from his role as MD and also leaving the Singapore studio, but will remain at Ubisoft."

Several high-ranking officials have departed the company due to allegations of abusive behavior and misconduct. Among them were former chief creative officer Serge Hascoët, who left in July. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot addressed the matter during the Ubisoft Forward event, saying, "I am truly sorry to everyone who was hurt. We have taken significant steps to remove or sanction those who violated our values and code of conduct, and we are working to improve our systems and processes."

Ricour oversaw several projects while at Ubisoft Singapore, including the Assassin's Creed franchise and Immortals: Fenyx Rising. He was also developing the naval combat game Skull and Bones.
