U.S. Navy Recreates the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Trailer

Fans are always recreating trailers for their favorite movies, doing their best to pay homage to the million-dollar blockbusters they so adore. But not many of them have a budget to match what the U.S. Navy just did. Recently, the crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower summoned all the might of the light side to make a shot-for-shot remake of the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer.

Instead of X-Wings, you get Navy jets. Instead of the Jakku desert, you get the expansive ocean. And instead of BB-8, there’s a rolling janitor’s wavebrake. There’s even a touch of CGI to create Kylo Ren’s already-iconic light saber, plus an aerial battle between a jet and some TIE fighters.  The whole, wonderful thing is entitled Sea Wars: The IKE Awakens, and you can watch it below.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18th. To see how well the IKE team’s fan trailer matches up to the original, revisit the first teaser below.
