Peter Sarsgaard, known for his roles in "Green Lantern" and "The Killing," has landed a recurring role on Showtime's "Twin Peaks," TVLine reports.

He joins such recent additions as Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried in the limited revival of the cult-classic drama. Although most of the original cast is expected to return, Showtime has only announced that Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

"Twin Peaks" co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost co-wrote the revival, which Lynch will shoot as a movie, and then edit into individual episodes (nine were announced, but Showtime anticipates there will be more).

Production is under way in Washington. Showtime hopes the miniseries will be ready for a 2016 premiere, but 2017 seems more likely.
