Twilight co-star Jackson Rathbone has signed up for a potentially recurring role on ABC’s upcoming superhero drama No Ordinary Family.
Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello reports the 25-year-old actor will play Trent Stafford, a classmate of telepathic teen Daphne Powell (Kay Panabaker) and the victim of a home-invasion robbery. “I’m guessing Daphne will join forces with her superhero parents to help catch the perp,” Ausiello writes.
No Ordinary Family stars Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Julie Benz (Dexter), Jimmy Bennett (Star Trek) and Panabaker (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) as the Powells, a typical American family that develops superhuman powers — super-strength and invulnerability, super-speed, vast intelligence, and telepathy, respectively — after their plane cashes into the Amazon River.
The cast also includes Tate Donovan (Damages), Romany Malco (Weeds), Autumn Reeser (The O.C.), Christina Chang (24), Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) and Josh Stewart (Dirt).
Rathbone, who played Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga and Sokka in The Last Airbender, last appeared on television in 2009 as a serial killer on Criminal Minds.
No Ordinary Family premieres on Sept. 28.
