Renowned fantasy author and "Sandman" creator Neil Gaiman has landed a deal with the UK channel Sky Arts for a TV series called "Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories," based on four of the writer's existing short stories.

According to The Guardian, production on the four-part series is set to begin at the end of November, though none of the show's central short stories have been revealed as of yet. The Gaiman-penned stories will feature "an ensemble cast across all four of these tales."

"Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories" is produced by Sid Gentle Films, a London-based independent film company founded by Sally Woodward Gentle, who was formerly a creative director at Downton Abbey's production company, Carnival Films. The series is to be directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard ("Nick Cave, 20,000 Days on Earth").

Gaiman already has "American Gods" in development at Starz under Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, along with a feature film adaptation of his children's book "Fortunately, The Milk," and as The Guardian points out, a film version of "How To Talk To Girls At Parties," another of Gaiman's short stories, which is to star Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman.

No release date for "Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories" has been revealed.
