Buoyed by the performance of "Better Call Saul," AMC has announced it will continue its expansion of original programming into Monday nights in April with the Season 2 premiere of "Turn: Washington's Spies."

The first season of the period drama aired Sundays, AMC's established night for original drams, and then was rebroadcast in summer reruns following "Hell on Wheels" on Saturdays.

Based on Alexander Rose's 2007 book "Washington's Spies: The Story of America's First Spy Ring," "Turn" stars Jamie Bell as Abraham Woodhull, a farmer living in British-occupied Long Island during the Revolutionary War who bands together with childhood friends to form the Culper Ring.

"Turn" will kick off its second season with a two-hour premiere April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and then move to its regular 10 p.m. slot the following week.
