Only two episodes into the third season of True Blood, HBO has already decided to bring Sookie Stackhouse and her various supernatural suitors back to Bon Temps for a 12-episode fourth season.
"The new season of True Blood is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics," HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said of the decision to renew True Blood for another season. "We're looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year."
I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew," added creator Alan Ball. "This is the most fun I have ever had."
"The season premiere episode of True Blood drew a large crowd two weeks ago with 5.1 million viewers tuning in, up in viewership by 38% from last season's opening episode.
