Ghostbusters 3 seems to get further and further away from reality with each passing month. The film has been talked about openly since 2008, when Sony hired The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to weave a story that would have original 'Busters Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson passing the mantle to a group of rookies.
After Aykroyd recently announced the film would be getting a new writing staff, Variety followed up with the news that Etan Cohen will take the next pass at the script, letting fans know the dream is still alive.
Cohen started off in the Mike Judge camp writing on shows like Beavis and Butt-head and King of the Hill and even wrote Judge's feature Idiocracy. He also penned Tropic Thunder and Sony's recent Men in Black 3.
There's no word on whether Cohen will keep elements from Stupinsky and Eisenberg's draft or break his own story.
