D-Generation X was one of pro wrestling’s most popular counter-culture groups from the moment they debuted in the ‘90s. The group, which has been through a few iterations, is most commonly associated with WWE Superstars Triple H and Shawn Michaels -- two members who have been through virtually every iteration of the stable. But, if they were to introduce a new generation version of DX, who would these veterans pick for the honor?Answering a fan question on Twitter, Triple H was quick to name which current Superstars he would want to join: Undisputed Era leader, and current NXT Champion, Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream, with an honorable mention going to Io Shirai.RELATED: Johnny Gargano Channels Marvel's Carnage for NXT TakeOver: Portland MatchWhat’s notable about his choices is how every single one of them is from WWE’s black-and-gold brand, NXT, which Triple H oversees. Ensuring his previous stablemates saw his choices, Triple H tagged by “Road Dogg” Jesse James and “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. Michaels responded to his friend’s choices, writing: “Whoa, whoa, whoa... Making executive decisions without me? @SuperKingofBros would be a strong candidate as well.”

Michaels' selection, Matt Riddle, is another super-popular NXT Superstar. He won the NXT Tag Team Championships with his tag team partner Pete Dunne during last night’s NXT TakeOver: Portland event, defeating the Undisputed Era’s Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. Adam Cole bested Tommaso Ciampa to retain his NXT Championship, thanks to help not only from the rest of the Undisputed Era, but also Ciampa's friend Johnny Gargano.
