The upcoming streaming service Quibi has added yet another project to its slate of projects in development.

Variety reports producer Curtis James Jackson III, better known as the rapper 50 Cent, will executive produce an animated superhero series titled Trill League. The project, based on the comic of the same name by Anthony Piper, blends superheroes, anime and hip hop culture.

According to the official series description,

In an era of social injustice and internet trolls, a league of black superheroes, "Trill League" is tasked with saving the world from monsters, super villains and haters of all kinds. Get ready for this remixed rendition of your favorite superheroes as the series satirizes modern American society.

Developed by Lionsgate, Trill League will air on Quibi. Piper and Jameel Saleem will executive produce alongside Jackson. Piper and Saleem are also credited as writers and co-creators.

“I am excited to bring G-Unit Film & Television to an innovative platform like Quibi with my partners at Lionsgate and 3 Arts," Jackson said in a statement. "Anthony Piper and Jameel Saleem have created a world we haven’t seen before in Trill League, looking forward to sharing it soon."

Quibi already has new versions of the dating show Singled Out, Reno 911!Legends of the Hidden Temple and Varsity Blues in the works. It also boasts series featuring Chrissy Teigen, Robbie and Stephen Amell, Sophie Turner and Steven Spielberg. Quibi launches on on April 6, 2020.
