Comics publisher ABLAZEÔ announced that Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo's Trese, Volume 1: Murder on Balete Drive graphic novel has sold out at Diamond and is headed back to press for a second printing.

News of the graphic novel selling out came just days before Season 1 of Netflix's Trese series premiered on the streaming platform June 11, and ahead of Tan and Baldisimo's second installment in the series -- Trese, Volume 2: Unreported Murders -- hitting shelves in the United States next month.

The official synopsis for Trese, Volume 1: Murder on Balete Drive reads,

When dusk arrives in the city of Manila, that’s when you become the most likely prey of the underworld. Kidnappers and thieves will be the least of your worries. Beware the criminals that can’t be bound with handcuffs nor harmed with bullets. Beware the ones that crave for your blood, those who hold your heart ransom, and the ones that come to steal your soul. When crime takes a turn for the weird, the police call Alexandra Trese.

Helmed by Jay Oliva, director of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (2013) and Justice League Dark (2017), Netflix's Trese anime series features Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell as the voice of Alexandra Trese in English, and Liza Soberano (My Ex and Whys, Alone/Together) in Filipino.

"It is important for the voice talent to embrace the layered character to fully become Alexandra Trese," Oliva said when Mitchell and Soberano's casting was first announced. "My concerns went away as soon as Shay Mitchell stepped into the recording booth. Shay's Alexandra exceeded my expectations and she delivers a performance of strength, determination and family duty that is at the very core of the character."

He added, "If that wasn't enough, imagine my delight when we confirmed Liza Soberano joining the Filipino voice cast! I am a big fan of hers and she fits the character so well. Having Liza play Alexandra Trese for the series makes this project even more special to me and my team!"

Seven volumes of the Trese graphic novels have been released so far, but only three of those have been scheduled for release in the United States. The second printing of Trese, Vol. 1, "Murder on Balete Drive" and Trese, Vol. 2, "Unreported Murders" are available now for pre-order in print and digital, with the second installment set for release on July 13. Meanwhile, Trese, Vol. 3, "Mass Murders" will be available on September 28 and is now available for print pre-order. The Trese anime series is streaming now on Netflix.
