Burt Gummer took to YouTube to announce his presidential run and the Tremors: Shrieker Island VOD and Blu-ray release.

This week, the Tremors YouTube channel posted a video titled "An Important Message From Burt Gummer" to announce the release of the seventh installment of the franchise, which arrives on home video Oct. 20.

In the video, Gummer addresses the audience as his, "fellow Americans," before stating that the 2020 presidential candidates are, in his opinion, "embarrassingly devoid of the imagination, intelligence and skill necessary to hold a position of such importance." Gummer then goes on to announce his own presidential run, as the "ultimate outsider," calling his political followers "Gummertarians." The video ends with a rallying cry, "Don't be a bummer, vote for Gummer," before revealing itself to be a promo for the Tremors: Shrieker Island VOD and Blu-Ray release.

Gummer (played by Michael Gross) made his first appearance in the original Tremors film, alongside protagonist Valentine McKee (played by Kevin Bacon). Gummer is introduced as a paranoid survivalist and gun enthusiast who, eventually, evolves into the franchise's main protagonist. Gross stars in Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, Tremors 5:Bloodlines, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell and the short-lived Tremors: The Series. His ancestor (also played by Gross) appeared in the fourth installment, Tremors 4: The Legend Begins.

Directed and co-written by Don Michael Paul, Tremors: Shrieker Island stars Michael Gross, Jon Heder, Jackie Cruz, Richard Brake and Caroline Langrishe. The film will be released on digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Oct. 20.
